Youth Summer Camping Trip

  • Zion Covenant Church 210 North Beulah Street Ellsworth, WI, 54011 United States (map)

The Zion Covenant Youth Group is going on a Canoe/Camping trip. The hope is this trip will take our youth out of their comfort zone and challenge them personally.

If you’re interested in attending this trip, please let Bill Emery and Pastor Sully know by Sunday, April 28th.

We are entering into the Voyageurs National Park at the Rainy Lake Visitors Center, traveling about 5 miles to camp at Loon Bay R63. As we reach our goal distance we will set up camp and spend the next few days fishing, exploring and enjoying the Gift of God.  The cost of the trip is $60 plus food going up and home.

There are some expectations of behavior on this trip. We will follow “Leave No Trace” principles, seeking to encounter the living God with mind, body and soul. Not only will participants gain the experience of wilderness camping and all of the self confidence that this can provide, but the challenges we will face will hopefully match our connection to God's Creation.

The schedule of events for this trip are:

  • Sunday May 19th, Packing Party during youth group: students will bring all they need for the trip to church for inspection to ensure they have what they need to stay safe and warm.
